Background and purpose:
Keeping the school community abreast of important, time-sensitive information as well as last minute schedule or venue changes and cancellations is considered extremely important.
In an effort to keep up with the ever changing demand of technology, King’s School in conjunction with SportCheck is now offering a very clever text messaging service.
How it works:
The mobile number you have provided to the school has been linked up with your child's year and class group and will be used to deliver relevant information specific to your child's year and class. Because of the technology involved each message you receive will cost the receiver 50c. You can opt-out of this at anytime by sending the word STOP to 3080. (We are currently investigating more efficient ways to deal with the cost and will immediately opt for anything that offers better value for all concerned).
With regards to the sports and cultural activities within the school, the system will rely on you to opt-in (register) your mobile number to the sports and activities your child is involved in. There is no restriction to the number of sports or activities you can opt-in to. Once you have opted in to your child’s team/group you will only ever be sent information that is specific to that team or group. Because of the technology involved with this process, you pay for the messages that you receive, which is 50c for each message you receive.
